PRIMETIME SERIES – EARLE ERNST LAB THEATRE
By Bertolt Brecht
Translated by Wendy Arons
Adapted by Tony Kushner
Directed by MFA candidate in Directing Ike Webster
Three Gods visit the earth to find just one mensch; one good person who will justify the world’s continuation. No good person in Schun. Kwan was a bust. Maybe they will have better luck in Setzuan. But how can a person be good while desperately struggling to make ends meet? Shen Te must sell herself to get by. Wang must sell water but can only do that if it’s not raining. Rug sellers peddle their wares. The Policeman instils his own order. Will the Gods ever find their mensch?
Advisories: NO LATE SEATING. Show contains harsh language, sexual situations, simulated fog, and smoking effects.
The Good Person of Setzuan (Kushner, adapt.) is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, INC.
