Since 1984 The Friends of Kennedy Theatre has provided in excess of $100,000 for
• scholarship aid to more than 90 Theatre graduate and undergraduate students;
• monies for unusual production expenses for 25+ productions;
• support of visiting theatre professionals to provide specialized training for UH students and Hawai‘i’s theatre community; and
• OnStage, FKT newsletter for 25 years. (Suspended publication in 2009 for budgetary reasons.)
With reductions in state and federal monies the Students and Programs in the Department of Theatre & Dance needs its Friends to sustain continued support.

What are FRIENDS for?

• to assist with partial travel expenses to Theatre conferences and invitation-only festivals 2017–2019 ($5000–$10,000)
• for scholarship aid for 6 Theatre students annually ($5,000–7,000 per year)
• raise awareness in the community of the contributions of the Department of Theatre & Dance to the state’s schools, community and professional theatres with expertise in technical theatre, educators, costume loans, performers and teachers. ($3,000–$5,000)
