Supplemental Instruction is a weekly study group facilitated by a student leader who develops conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and effective study strategies in students. Study sessions are designed to engage students in the learning process and to create a positive, interactive, and stimulating learning environment. SI leaders have earned at least a B in the course. SI sessions are offered in courses with a relatively high proportion of students earning less than an average grade. The SI leader attends classes, serves as a liaison between students and instructor, and collaborates with the instructor to help students meet their grade goals.
