Scholarships


At Richardson, we know investing in your future, by pursuing a JD, is an enormous undertaking in many ways, especially financially.


To ensure we attract the brightest and most capable students, interested in concentrating their legal studies in the field, we offer scholarships to ease some of this burden.


  1. Pacific-Asian Legal Studies Scholarship


Pacific-Asian Legal Studies Scholarships are awarded to students who are highly qualified and who have demonstrated special interest, experience or expertise in the Pacific and Asia.


During the admissions process, we will consider students for such awards, after admission.


  1. Kashiwagi Fund for Japanese Studies

  2. Sam & Helen Piesner Endowed Scholarship For Japanese Legal Studies


In addition, the Kashiwagi Fund for Japanese Studies and the Sam & Helen Piesner Endowed Scholarship For Japanese Legal Studies generously provide grants to support students specializing their studies in Japanese law.


During the admissions process, we will consider students for such awards, after admission.


  1. University of Hawai‘i at Manoa Scholarships


Enrolling concurrently through the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa, law students who pursue Pacific-Asian studies are also eligible to apply for the following scholarships:


  1. East-West Center Grant

  2. Graduate Fellowships

  3. Foreign Languages and Area Studies Fellowships


Typically, during the admission process, upon admission, students must apply for these scholarships in late October or early November for the following year.
