The Kū‘oko‘a ‘Āina Based Leadership graduate certificate is a 16-credit program that includes:
- 2 Required Core Courses
- HWST 458/ NREM458/ SUST 456: Resource Issues & Ethics in Hawaiʻi
- HWST 650: Hawaiian Geography & Resource Management
- 2 Electives
- Students are required to take a minimum of 2 electives to meet individual professional development or specialization goals. See list of recommended elective courses in the certificate brochure. Substitutions are accepted with pre-approval by graduate advisor.
- 1 Field Course
- Students are required to complete a field-based course focused on a community mālama ‘āina project.
- 1 Capstone
- A culminating end of program project and hōʻike.
