[VIDEO] UHM researcher helps women transition from prison

This video production of Ka Hui Ho`olauna was created by journalism students in the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa’s College of Social Social Sciences.

Starting at 10:19, there is a small profile of Meda Chesney-Lind and her work with The Home of Reawakening for Women.

Chesney-Lind is not only the recipient of a new national award, but it has been named in her honor.  In February 2013, the professor of Women’s Studies at UH Mānoa received the Meda Chesney-Lind Award for her scholarly achievement and activism in the intersection of gender of crime from the Western Society of Criminology. She was recognized for her service to the organization and contributions to feminist criminology.
