David Rockwood selected as Fulbright specialist

University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa School of Architecture Associate Professor David Rockwood has been selected for a Fulbright Specialist’s project in Vietnam at Danang University of Technology during the summer of 2014. His research will focus on the examination of existing Vietnamese housing stock, and evolution of new techniques for constructing affordable and sustainable housing in the country.

“I am most honored to have been selected for the Fulbright grant and look forward to collaboration with faculty at Danang University of Technology,” said Rockwood. “With our project focusing on housing stock in Vietnam, this study is timely and important to help provide new housing solutions in this rapidly growing country.”

Rockwood is one of more than 400 U.S. faculty and professionals who will travel abroad this year through the Fulbright Specialist’s Program. Created in 2000 to complement the traditional Fulbright Scholar Program, it provides short-term academic opportunities (two to six weeks) to prominent U.S. faculty and professionals to support curricular and faculty development and institutional planning at post secondary, academic institutions around the world.
