Why are you taking FPLP courses?: Word on the street said you get to meet a lot of people in these classes... I guess. And I feel Songfest gets you a foot in the door to make it BIG! Just like Rebecca Black!

Why are you taking FPLP courses?: Because I thoroughly enjoy immersing myself in Filipino-related course, be it in the program, Ethnic Studies, American Studies, etc.
Interesting Facts:
- I hate meat jun, but I love fish jun.
- My goal with the other officers is to teach Linda, Anna, and Teddy how to swim... Or to get them to jet-ski with me.
- I really really really want to be a Foreign Services Officer.
- I like, no - love, NO! I am in LOVE with history.
- I like to travel, especially since I get to add more jazz to my passport ;)

Why are you taking FPLP courses?:To fulfill a language course and because I don't know a lot about my Filipino Heritage, I want to be able to learn a little of the Filipino language and culture from the class and the club.
Interesting facts:
- I do Judo and a little kickboxing.
- I was raised in the Philippines for 4 years (from 3months - 4yrs old) and came back to Hawaii
- I'm a dork for video games.
- and for comics: American and Asian (marvel and manga).
- I love the cold and the only reason why I'm in Oahu is because of UH Manoa. >_<

Why are you taking FPLP courses?: At first it was just so I can fulfill my language requirements but I've become more interested in the Filipino language and culture, therefore wanting to expand my knowledge. :)
Interesting Facts:
- My name, Nescia (pronounced: neh-shaa), is my parents' names put together.
- The only time I'll ever eat rice is if it's sushi. :)
- I hate lychee!
- Coffee will always make me happy.
- Many people have a bad first impression of me because I have that "look", but I'm really nice! :) Don't judge a book by its cover.

Why are you taking FPLP courses?: I’m taking the Filipino language course(s) because I wanted to learn how to speak, write and understand the language, so that I’m able to communicate with my relatives and others here and in the Philippines, as well as learn more about my own culture.
Interesting Facts:
- Loves to eat vegetarian dishes, but is not a vegetarian, although prefers not to eat meat.
- I know how to play different musical instruments.
- When people try to guess my ethnicity, they never seem to think I’m Filipino, but I’m 50% Filipino, 25% Portuguese, and 25% Puerto Rican.
- I don’t remember the last time I went to a salon to get a haircut because I cut/trim my own hair.
- Last Christmas, all my gifts were in my favorite color!

Why are you taking FPLP courses?: I took Filipino to learn Tagalog for my parents, and I'm glad I did because I love learning the language and about my culture.
Interesting Facts:
- Don't talk to me before I've had my coffee. I can't function without a cup a day.
- I love Tupac. That is all.
- I'm an adventurous eater and I'll try anything at least once. The way to my heart is through my stomach. :P
- Don't ask me to go the beach. I can't swim and I'm deathly afraid of the ocean.
- Purple and Gold, all day! ;)

Why are you taking FPLP courses?:: I'm taking FPLP courses to fulfill my language requirements, writing intensive requirements, and to learn the Filipino language. I want to have the ability to confidently converse with somebody that speaks to me in Tagalog.
Interesting Facts:
- I was born and raised in San Francisco, California. I'm a transfer student from San Francisco State University.
- Japanese motorcycles are my passion. If I'm not holding on and screaming for dear life, it's time to get a faster street bike
- You can usually find me tearing up the slopes on a snowboard in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California during winter break..

Why are you taking FPLP courses?: I wanted to learn more about my culture and language considering that I felt that I deprived myself of it for so long, plus it fulfills my language requirements. Stayed in the FPLP for the ppl and the fun stuff that we somehow get ourselves into. :)
Interesting Facts:
- I graduated High School in Alaska
- Trained for a fitness competition once, but decided to move before going to the competition
- I love to latin dance :)
- Full Filipino, my parents were high school sweethearts before immigrating
- Absolutely loves the beach and the water but don't know how to swim. I might be able to do a vague description of a doggie paddle when i realized I’ve gone too far out lol

Why are you taking FPLP courses?: : I am Ilokano but my mom told me to take Tagalog because I will be able to speak to everyone. I also need it for my language requirement.
Interesting Facts:
- I love food and I am ALWAYS hungry. I want to be on an episode of epicmealtime.
- I like watching videos on YouTube.
- I pretty much live in the Architecture building during the school year. If you ever need to find me, that’s where I’ll be
- I was told that I was a good listener but I’m really not.
- I get all my clothes at sample sales. My favorite clothing brand is Jedidiah.
