Why am I taking FPLP courses? Other than needing 2 years of foreign language, I want to get more in touch with my culture and its traditions.

5 Interesting Facts:

1.   Before entering college I went to Private Catholic schools my entire life.

2.   I can’t whistle or wink, but I can move my ears back and forth.

3.   I was born in Subic Bay, Philippines and moved to HI when I was just 6 months old.

4.   I’m obsessed with pop culture. Anything celebrity related I probably know about. My TV is forever programmed to E!

5.   Bought my first car this year… it’s a used 2009 Nissan Sentra. I love it, even though it’s just a Sentra. Lol.

Why am I taking FPLP courses?  To learn more about the Filipino culture and another language besides Ilokano.

1. I tend to always wear pink or a lot of floral print

3. I love running.

4. I'm an organist at my church.

Why am I taking FPLP courses? To be able to communicate with my family and relatives and to eliminate language barriers.

1. Been to Japan a few years back, I'm definitely moving there one day. =)

2. I haven't visited te Philippines yet, but when I do I'll visit my family's hometown of Cebu.

3. In the past, people gave me weird nicknames like Rogue because I have a white streak of hair.

4. I love curry. o.o"

5. I can't come up with interesting facts to save my life. ^__^"

Darren Sana

Major: Art (BFA)

Year: Transfer student from UHMC (UH Maui College) and my first semester at UHM.

Current FPLP course: Filipino 101

Why am I taking FPLP courses? Because I needed to fulfill H/SL. I decided on FIL because what better language to learn than my own native tongue. Now I can decipher if my parents talk about me with my relatives. Bwahahahaaaa!

5 Interesting Facts:

1. I'm a very serious photgrapher. My dream one day is to be a world renowned photographer but that is very less likely to happen. So I've decided to pursue and become a art teacher.

2. I'm very musical. I play 4 different instruments. Ukulele as my main, guitar, piano, and my voice.

3. I have four tattoos and I plan to get more.

4.   I like to collect things and keep things that have lots of sentimental value. OCD muh? >_<

5. Though I may seem introverted in nature I'm always more of an extrovert most of the time.

Why am I taking FPLP courses? So I can conversate with my realtives back in the Philippines.

1. I recently went to prom.

2. I'm addicted to "Doctor Who" that I tend to reference back to the show from time to time. It gets on my boyfriends' nerves.

3. I've never got a chance to surf or even learn for that matter.

4. When I was younger, I wanted to be a chef or a scientist but mostly a Power Ranger.

5. I accidentally killed my pet bird when I was 5.

Why am I taking FPLP courses? To learn more about my roots and to learn hw to read and write Filipino.

1. That 70s Show is my favorite TV Show.

2. I like to bake because I have a sweet tooth,.

3. I love little kids and I want to be a pediatrician.

4. My perfect day consist of hiking in the morning, going to the beach and grabbing an acai bowl with extra granola.

5. I'm a pretty open-minded person and I like to try new things.

Why am I taking FPLP courses? I want to become more in tune with my heritage and culture. I also want to understand my aunties when they talk about me at parties.

1. I was born and raised in San Diego, CA.

2. I've been b-boyinh for four years and I dance every single day.

3. I've been a tourist in London, Paris, Venice, and Rome.

4. When you see the Grand Canyon in person it looks like a painting

5. I was in Air Force JROTC in high school, and was commander of the Army Fancy Drill Team.
