Katipunan Election 2008!!!

Our annual Katipunan Election is coming up. Below is the timeline for our election season! Attached are the Duties of Officers and Nomination Form.
KATIPUNAN ANNUAL ELECTION 2008
Important dates:
April 14-15 Nomination period
April 16-17 Acceptance
April 18-22 Campaign period
April 23-24 Election
April 25, 5:30 pm Counting of Ballots
Rules:
Nomination: ONLY students who will register for classes in at least one Filipino and/or Philippine literature course(s) in Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 are eligible to be nominated.
Acceptance: Nominees must turn in acceptance letter by 5:00 pm on Thursay, April 17, 2007. You may submit either a hardcopy or email the acceptance letter to Tita Ime, igasmen@hawaii.edu and/or Tita Betchie, robotham@hawaii.edu.
Acceptance letter should include a brief introduction indicating your academic and extra-curricular background and reasons for running for office. You may be nominated for several positions BUT you can only accept ONE nomination. You must have a GPA of at least 2.5 to run for office—this will be held in confidence by the election committee (Tita Ime and Tita Betchie).
Campaign:
1. You are allowed to send ONLY TWO CAMPAIGN EMAILS to the katipunan listserv.
2. Posters and flyers must be approved by your teachers.
3. Notify the instructors ahead of time if you plan to visit classes.
Election:
1. One ballot per person, regardless of the number of classes you are taking.
2. Only paper ballots will be counted. NO EMAIL VOTING.
3. Ballots will be distributed and collected by instructors during class time.
4. If your classes fall on days other than the voting days, please proceed to Spalding 452 and ask either Tita Ime or Tita Betchie for your ballot envelope.
5. ABSENTEE VOTING is NOT allowed!
Counting: Ballots will be opened and counted on Friday, April 25, 5;30 pm at either Spalding 257 or 155 whichever is available. Announcement of winners will be on April 26 at the dramafest.
Induction of New Officers will be held at the Katipunan Banquet on May 9, 6:30 pm, at a Hotel TBA in Waikiki. Elected officials are required to attend the banquet.
