1] ANNUAL HONOLULU FESTIVAL: Join the Katipunan group as we march along Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki to celebrate with other cultures on Sunday, March 16, 4:00-6:30 pm. We will leave UH in a school bus at 3:00 p.m. Please email igasmen@hawaii.edu or gtorno@hawaii.edu if you are interested. We need about 10-15 marchers.
2] YOUTH TRACK SESSION in the Filipino Language Global Conference: We are opening up the Youth Track portion of the international conference on Wednesday March 19, 1:30-5:00 at the Campus Center TO ALL YOUTHS: high school as well as college students. See invitation below...
A SPECIAL INVITATION TO COLLEGE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS!!!
Mabuhay! YOU are cordially invited to attend the FREE Youth Track session which is a part of the very first Filipino as a Global Language Conference on Wednesday, March 19, 1:30-5:00 p.m. at the UH Manoa Campus Center. Sharing/presentation is at 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Spend a day at UH Manoa and learn about Philippine culture through poetry writing, hiphop culture, storytelling, and folk dancing!!!
Participate in any of the four workshops which include storytelling by Prof. Francis Tanglao-Aguas, poetry writing by Dr. Maria Josephine Barrios, hiphop CULTURE by HipHop Artist Geordan Arenal, and traditional folk dancing by Katipunan Club led by President and Tinikling Master Gabe Torno. Certificates of attendance will be awarded to all participants.
Registration [worth $50] is FREE!!! Space is limited to the first 50 students who will register. First-come, first-served basis. Deadline to register: March 12.
