GRACE NONO PERFORMANCE-LECTURE
Thursday, February 14, 2008
UH Manoa Art Building Auditorium
7:30 p.m.
Free & open to the public

Grace Nono is one of the most talented vocalists and interpreters of Philippine music currently working in the Philippines, combining traditional oral history sources with contemporary musical styles. Through her musical work, Nono has championed the voices of women, those that work on behalf of environmental and ecological sustainability, and the cultural work of tribal and ethnic minorities throughout Southeast Asia. In this rare Honolulu appearance, Grace will combine performance with a discussion of her journey as a Filipina artist.
