Mabuhay Katipunan!

Welcome Back2Klase Katipuneros and I hope you all had a good first week of school. Here are some activities that are coming up...

This Monday, which is the Martin Luther King holiday, Katipunan will be joining and marching along with Filipino Coalition For Solidarity, which is the registered organization in the MLK Parade. We will be standing together in solidarity for the ideals of inclusion, fairness, love as fought by MLK himself.

The parade begins at Magic Island with the formation of organizations @ 7:30 a.m.

THE 20th ANNUAL PARADE will begin to move down Kalakaua Avenue with a post-parade Unity Rally at Kapiolani Park (approximately 10 am) with food, community booths, and other vendors.

The parade travels thru Waikiki to Kapiolani Park and the Unity Celebration, with its food, community booths and camaraderie. An estimated 4000 people attended the 2007 post-parade rally and celebration.

In other balita...

We still have a few Katipunan club T-shirts up at the office (Spalding 452). Mostly Smalls and Mediums tho.

Tentatively, the first general club meeting is set for Friday, Feb.1, 5pm @somewhere in Webster Hall.

If you are interested in becoming a Katipunan officer next year or simply just want to contribute your ideas and input to our organization, our next Officers Meeting will be this coming Friday, Jan. 25, 6pm@Spalding 257.
