KAHEAD Library

Obtaining literaure is a crucial part of the research process. In many areas the research literature available is scarce and is a serious impediment to furthering knowledge. To address this problem, the KAHEAD program has started the KAHEAD Library  Enhancement.
The KAHEAD Library Enhancement has helped hundreds of students, faculty and researchers in all areas of agricultural research. We have access to the University of Hawaii at Manoa library
which contains more than 3.4 million volumes, 2.3 million microform units, about 5,000 computer files, 15,000 linear feet of manusc-ripts and archives, more than 73,000 audiovisual items, and nearly 95,000 maps and aerial photographs. Approximately 50,000 serial and journal titles are currently received in paper and/or electronic formats.
KAHEAD serves all areas of agricultural research that pertain to Iraq. Our scholars are in diverse fields such as fish farming, water reclamation, forestry and animal sciences. The program employs a librarian whose sole duty is to address the literature requests for the KAHEAD students, faculty and researchers. She helps formulate search strategies for the researchers through reference interviews that take place using electronic mail. Book chapters, journal articles and website links are sent to the KAHEAD patrons to further their research.
