The Center for Japanese Studies would like to congratulate Dr. Mary McDonald on receiving one of the Japan’s most prestigious awards, Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette. This award was given for Dr. McDonald’s dedicated work of advancing U.S.-Japan relationship in academic exchange and international collaboration. The ceremony took place at the Consulate General of Japan in Honolulu on September 26, 2025.
