2025 EPIC Summer Interns Arrive in Ehime

The 2025 Ehime Prefectural International Center (EPIC) summer interns, Ms. Alexandra St. Sauveur (UHM undergraduate student, Art Studio major and Japanese minor) and Mr. Jeffrey Toko (UHM undergraduate student, Exploratory major program), arrived in Matsuyama, Ehime prefecture on May 19, 2025 (Monday).

Warm welcome from the EPIC staff

The interns were warmly welcomed at the airport by EPIC staff. They began their internship the next day and are already scheduled to visit more than 10 schools during their internship period. EPIC interns act as goodwill cultural ambassadors, offering Hawaiʻi-related seminars to community groups and giving presentations about Hawaiʻi at schools and universities to schools in Ehime prefecture.

The 2025 EPIC interns Alexandra and Jeffrey, together with 2024 EPIC interns, Matthew and Kaitlyn, and the President of the Japan America Society of Hawaiʻi Ms. Reyna Kaneko, CJS friend Ms. Lenny Yajima, and CJS Director Mark Levin at the Ehime Maru Memorial

We are deeply grateful for the ongoing support and assistance of the Ehime Prefectural International Association in making this meaningful program possible.
