Outbound Students
Thank you for your interest in the Mānoa International Exchange (MIX) Program. The information below is for UH Mānoa students going on exchange to another institution. For priority consideration, application materials should be turned in to the MIX Coordinator no later than:
- February 1 (for Fall semester exchanges beginning in July-October)
- February 1 (for Summer exchanges)
- September 15 (for Spring semester exchanges beginning in January-April)
Please submit the following application materials:
- Mānoa International Exchange (MIX) Application Form [PDF]; Checklist [PDF]
- Typed, approximately 300-word personal statement addressing the following question: "Why is it important for you to participate in this international exchange program and what do you hope to gain and to contribute?"
- Two confidential letters of recommendation (preferably one from your academic advisor). Print out the Confidential Reference Form [PDF] and ask each person to return it to you in a sealed envelope OR to send it directly to the MIX Coordinator. In lieu of the form, letters are fine.
- UHM transcript and/or other college transcripts
- Photocopy of your passport identification page

You are also required to meet personally with the International Exchange Coordinator to discuss your plans and goals.
Upon being approved as a UHM exchange student, you will be asked to complete application materials from the partner institution and an Academic Advising Worksheet [PDF], as well as additional forms listed in the right column.
