International education at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa is an integral part of the instruction, research, training, and service of most units. It comprises activities as diverse as the development of internationalized curriculum and degrees focused on the study of cultures other than our own, particularly in Asia and the Pacific, and international research partnerships and exchanges of students and faculty. In order to facilitate and strengthen UHM efforts in international education and to better achieve the UHM strategic goal of leadership and expertise in international studies, the Committee for International Education at UHM was formed.

The Committee is charged to:

• facilitate coordination, cooperation, and communication about international programs among the service and academic units administering international programs at UHM;
• publicize and promote international education at UHM ;
• advise the Chancellor of UHM on policy and protocol issues affecting international education at UHM.

The Committee is composed of representatives of the major academic and service units whose daily responsibilities or missions have a strong international component.
