Frequently Asked Questions

Q.:What are the Intramural Sports hours?

A.:Our office is open M-F from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday/Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. during the school year.  Most of our facilities are open during these times.  For more specific hours (i.e. the Fitness Center, Locker Rooms) see our Recreational Facilities Schedule on the HOME PAGE.

Q.:Is there a charge to work out in the Fitness Center?

A.:No. Students can work out free-of-charge. All you need a is current validation on your UH Manoa student I.D. card.

Q.:What do I need to bring if I wanted to work out at the Fitness Center?

A.:First and foremost, bring your validated UHM I.D. card.  Also, bring a towel (at least 12”x16”) or you may purchase or rent one at the front desk.  We do have a dress code policy (click on to the University Fitness Center tab) as well as other procedures that users need to follow.

Q.:Can I bring a guest to work out at the Fitness Center?

A.:Unfortunately, we do not have a guest policy.

Q.:Can community college students or community college staff/faculty work out at the fitness center?

A.:Unfortunately, no.  The use of the Fitness Center is strictly for students, faculty, and staff of UH Manoa.

Q.:Is there an entry fee to play in a sports league?

A.:Participating in most of our various team and individual league play

is free to all UH Manoa students, faculty and staff.  All you need to have is acurrent semester’s validation to play.  Validation must coincide with the semester’s activities.

Q.:I understand that you lent out equipment.  Is it free?

A.:Yes.  All you need is a current validated UHM student I.D.

Q.:I am a student at a CC and was interested in playing intramurals.  Can I participate?

A.:At the moment, only students registered at Kapiolani Community College are eligible to participate in our Intramural Program.  What you need to do is register with your activities program at the KCC campus, join a team, and compete as a team. Unfortunately, if you have friends who go to UH Manoa, you will not be able to play with them, but maybe against them.
