The NHSS Kekaulike Pre-Bridge Cohort is a FREE opportunity for current Maui College students who are considering transferring to UH Mānoa to prepare for the transfer process.  Cohort Members will register in an identified Maui College Hawaiian Studies course & will attend a FREE workshop/ Field Trip once a month. Programming for the Cohort runs throughout Spring 2017. Kekaulike Pre-BRIDGE cohort member are HIGHLY encouraged to also apply and attend the 2017 Kekaulike Summer Bridge Program at UH Mānoa.

Kekaulike Summer Bridge Program

The NHSS Kekaulike Summer Bridge Program is a FREE 6-Week intensive residential bridge program for Native Hawaiian community college students interested in transferring to UH Mānoa. The program runs from July 3 – August 11, 2016 and is designed to prepare students for their transfer to UH Mānoa while also:

  • 3-credit HWST Course
  • meeting & interacting with Native Hawaiian faculty
  • going on huakaʻi (field trips) to various cultural sites
  • experiencing UH Mānoa dorm life (free dorming and meal plans for 6 week program)
  • learning & engaging with aloha ʻāina research

Although opened to all currently enrolled University of Hawaiʻi community college students, preference is given to students transferring from UH Maui College. Application deadline: April 8, 2016

Discounted Upper Division Courses in Summer Session 1


*Participation in these programs is limited to students who have committed to enrollment at UH Mānoa for Fall 2016.
**Students in this program will be required to participate in 5 NHSS workshops in Fall 2016 and Spring 2017.
