Although Hawaiʻinuiākea is the youngest of all the colleges on the Mānoa campus, it’s roots go back to Mānoa’s Hawaiian language classes in the 1920s, Ethnic Studies classes in the 1970s, and hundreds of graduates with degrees from SHAPS (School of Hawaiian and Pacific Studies) in the 1980s.
