OTC jpgThis is Native Hawaiian Student Services  first ever – UH Mānoa Teach-In: Our Theory of Change event (OTC)!

The main idea is to weave together different ways of thinking about creating change (from different disciplines) and give practical applicable ways to ACTIVATE that as a community member, as a student (high school, community college, or UH Mānoa), as a teacher/educator.  This can be an opportunity for students to learn more about rooting what they do in their community – or to get connected if they are not connected.

Activities Include:

· Faculty from different disciplines will open up their classrooms to the community, to other UHM students – to learn about their theories of change (how change can be created in government, planning, nation building, inequality, culture based practices, education, etc)

· Monday, 4/7 – 12:30-3:00 Student Research Symposium – UHM students will share their research, and teach skill based workshops on research in different fields (location: Campus Center Ballroom).

·Wednesday, 4/8 – 10:30-3:00 Aloha Aina Fair – Students from a newly formed group KaPAʻA (Ka Poʻe Aloha Aina) will be gathering speakers + provide a fair with organizations focused on Land based practices (location: Halau o Haumea -Center for Hawaiian Studies).

· Additional workshops hosted by community based organizations, UHM student organizations, and UHM students are listed in flyer (lectures, skill-based workshops, laʻau lapaʻau, etc).
