Hale Wainani was built in 1978, and houses 650 residents in a co‐educational setting. “Hale Wainani” means “House of Beautiful Water” in Hawaiian.
Hale Wainani offers both a low-rise option as well as towers with one and two-bedroom units. The complex accommodates 650 students in two high-rise towers (13 and 14 stories) and two 3-story low-rise buildings. Units are accessible by stairs and elevators.

With easy access to The Market store and the Rainbow Shuttle stops, Hale Noelani and Hale Wainani are a popular choice for juniors and seniors wanting to reside on campus.

Meet Our Staff
Assistant Residence Director
Welcome to Wainani. I'm so very excited to be a part of our staff this year. Hawai`i is my seventh and most favorite state. This is my second year on island and I am currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Psychology with a focus in Higher Education. My Bachelor's degree is from Kent State University in Ohio and my Master's degree is from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I spent two years running a business before I returned to the field of education and taught in the middle school setting for six academic years. I am very much looking forward to becoming involved in our community this year. I believe very strongly in the vision and values of our department. And I am grateful that here, in Wainani, I have the opportunity to work with such a fantastic and dedicated staff. This is going to be a fantastic year. Best wishes.
