Prof. Desser will discuss her current research on the memoirs of second- and third-generation Holocaust survivors. What stories do the children and grandchildren tell, and both how and why do they tell such stories? This compelling topic is made even more so by the passing of the Survivors. Dr. Desser’s publications include Teaching Writing in Globalization: Remapping Disciplinary Work (Rowman & Littlefield, 2012) and many scholarly articles on topics such as rhetoric, writing, and teaching.
Free and open to the public. Sponsored by U H M Department of History & Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society.
