Lance Nolde selected for Fulbright Award

PhD student Lance Nolde has been awarded a Fulbright U.S. Student Program scholarship, and intends to research the sea-faring Sama people in Eastern Indonesia. He has also been selected for a Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Award. (June 1, 2010)

Dr. Ned Bertz awarded for Excellence in Teaching

Dr. Ned Bertz has been awarded the Board of Regents' Excellence in Teaching Award from UHM (May 7, 2010), in addition to the College of Arts and Humanities Excellence in Teaching Award (February 17, 2010).

Dr. Noelani Arista awarded Nevins Prize

Dr. Noelani Arista has been awarded the prestigious Allan Nevins Prize by the Society of American Historians for the best-written doctoral dissertation on an American subject (April 14, 2010).
