Training & Technical Assistance

As a resource to the community, Hā Kūpuna offers training and technical assistance in the areas of long-term care and family caregiving for Native Hawaiian elders. Hā Kūpuna is committed to the training of the next generation of gerontologists to ensure expertise in working with Native Hawaiian elders.

There are three current projects:

1. Papakolea Community Association: Consultation and assistance in preparing for and utilizing the Elders Survey III (University of North Dakota) with elders in the Papakolea homestead community.

2. Hawai`i Executive Office on Aging: Assistance in evaluation and fidelity monitoring for the state’s 3-year Healthy Aging Partnership – Empowering Elders (HAP-EE).

3. ALU LIKE, Inc.: Consultation and assistance in preparing for and utilizing the Elders Survey III (University of North Dakota) with elders throughout the state of Hawaiʻi.
