The Japanese program has been awarded another $5,000 grant from the UH Open Education Resources fund, which supports the development of textbook-free curriculum. The grant will be used toward the continued implementation of the Musubi curriculum. This is the fourth such grant the Japanese program has received, which stands as evidence of the success of the project so far. This funding will help the Japanese program to bring the Musubi curriculum up through JPN 202. Because of this new curriculum, Japanese 101-202 enrollments have increased from 944 to 1072 (13.5% gain) between AY2016-17 and AY2019-20. Our congratulations to the Musubi team, not only for attracting grant money, but also for developing a truly innovative new language-learning curriculum.
