Dr. Makena Coffman, Professor and Chair of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa’s Department of Urban and Regional Planning, is among the three UH faculty who have been appointed by Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell to serve on the City’s Climate Change Commission. The role of the commission is to gather the latest science and information on climate change impacts to Hawaiʻi, and to provide advice and recommendations to the mayor, the city council and the executive departments of the city that will draft policy and planning for future climate scenarios.
