Home / Some of Our Students / Bryan Bushley: Ph.D. Candidate

Home is somewhere between Kathmandu and Honolulu! (but originally a Seattlelite)

DURP brings together a diverse faculty and student body from across the Asia Pacific region for innovative research and a unique learning environment to foster practical solutions for today’s critical global and local issues.

I earned a BA in International Relations/Russian Studies from Colby College (1993) and joint MPA/MS degrees in Environmental Policy/Forestry from the University of Washington (2003).  For my doctoral dissertation I am exploring the socioeconomic and governance implications of emerging policies to mitigate climate change (i.e., Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation) for forest-dependent communities in Nepal.

After graduating, I hope to teach at a university and/or work on issues concerning community impacts and responses to climate change and related policies.
