Pick leaves and stems regularly before they turn yellow or slippery.

Storage

Rinse and blot dry before storing. Keep in a plastic bag and refrigerate.

Preparation

  • Wash leaves and stems thoroughly.
  • Watercress can be eaten raw as a salad.
  • It is often cooked as a vegetable in many soups,stews, and curries.

Watercress

Watercress is a trailing plant with leafy stems that grows well in wet soils (Bailey, 1992).
