Storage

Keep fruits, leaves, and shoots in a paper or plastic bag and refrigerate.

Preparation

  • Wash plants well before use.
  • Leaves and shoots can be added in soups and stews.
  • Fruits can be pickled or cooked in soups.

Bittermelon

Bittermelon is a slender climbing plant. The fruits, leaves, and young shoots are eaten, but the fruits have a bitter taste (Rody, 1982).
