Dry plants in the sun and keep crumbled flakes in a jar.


  • Wash plants well before use.
  • Freshly chopped plants can be added to salads, soups, or stews.
  • Heat dry plants in a dry pan over medium heat to crisp.
  • Add crumbles of dried crisp to other dishes for flavoring.

Slippery Cushion

Slippery cushion is found on sheltered back reefs on coral rock or on top of other plants. The plant has flat branches that tangle or stick together to form a cushion. It grows best in the dry season and is light golden-brown in color (Novaczek, 2001).
