Storage

Soak in clean fresh water.

Preparation

  • Wash shells well before use.
  • Boil gently in water (after soaking), then drain and chill.
  • Can be cooked directly over fire.
  • Can be made into soup.

Sea Snails

Sea snails are easily found at low tide but are very common intertidally. They can live on different shell types like helmet, spider, and trochus shells. The most common is the limpet (Rody, 1982).
