Food From Wood: Edible and Educational Mushrooms

Oyster mushroom bag fruiting. 250 students, teachers and community members across the state received mushroom grow bags and accompanying teacher-crafted lessons as part of the Food From Wood: Edible and Educational Mushrooms webinar on November 5th, 2020.

Mushrooms cultivation for education presents the opportunity to participate in farm to school activities indoors or at home, without soil or a garden. Ready to fruit mushroom grow bags can produce oyster mushrooms that students can cook with in as little as two weeks!

100 webinar participants learned how to care for their mushroom grow bags, observed a recipe demo and learned how to use mushroom cultivation as an educational experience for youth. 93% of those who attended would recommend the series to a friend or community member.
