Greenhouse (Shadehouse):

Greenhouses (Shadehouses) have many things in common with a Ranch (Farm) Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) audit, but some things are different. The GAP audit for a Greenhouse puts a strong emphasis on having a pest control program. An adequate written pest control program should be developed and carried out at the Greenhouse as part of the facility’s good sanitation procedures. A grower should assess the prevalence and likelihood of uncontrolled animal access to their greenhouse(s) in order to reduce the potential for contamination of crops by fecal material. The GAP audit for a Greenhouse asks about the type of growing media (soil, substrate, hydroponic system) used in the facility and asks information about sterilization practices for the recycled nutrient water and substrates.
