Food Safety for Hawai‘i Farmers, Distributors, Exporters and Processors
Consumers value fresh and local produce, but above all, they want to trust in the quality and safety of the products they buy. That’s why the Produce Marketing Association (PMA), the national trade organization supporting the fresh produce supply chain, the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa-CTAHR, the Hawai‘i Department of Agriculture, Costco, Safeway, Subway, and Sodexo, have joined forces to deliver two one-day workshops uniquely-tailored to help Hawai‘i farmers develop and implement a food safety plan for their farm. By attending, you will better understand the evolving supplier food safety requirements as well as the needs of other retailers and restaurants. Above all, you will learn how to implement food safety plans and protect your business.
Through presentations, hands-on demonstrations, and discussions with national experts, you will gain a better understanding of the importance of your role as a farmer, distributor, exporter or processor. You will also get the tools needed to build your own customized food safety plan; based on your entity’s specific business model. Join Hawai‘i’s leading farmers, distributors, exporters and processors for one of these important sessions and stay ahead of the food safety curve. See Save the Date flyer here.
