The SPIN club, featured renowned high school students in the Culinary Academy of Farrington High School: Rycial Ignacio, Claythan Blas, and Kaimana Werkmeister, teaching students interested in the Culinary industry or simply interested in cooking. The classes were conducted throughout November until December, just in time for the annual Food Show. Kindergarten Food Introduction Class
Food Introduction Class- These kids are learning about Brussels Sprouts, and facts about them. They learned how to take a classic meal and add in some vegetables to make it healthier. These kids made Brussels Sprout Macaroni and Cheese. All the kids got to participate in making this dish, they got to taste test the meal and 10/10 students liked this dish better than their box Mac and Cheese. Successful Class!

For our January 6th meeting, Rachel taught us about Mediterranean cuisine. We made our own naan bread with only 2 ingredients, yogurt and flour. We also made tzatziki sauce and hummus for our bread! It was quite simple considering the fact each dish had very few ingredients used. Everything was so delicious, and we all had a fun time making it together.

For our December 2nd, 2018, meeting, Xia taught us about Italian cuisine. We made homemade dough and thinned it out to make our own pasta and pizza. They were both so delicious! Although making each food item was a little difficult, the end result made them totally worth the effort. After the meeting, we all sat down and had a Christmas party. We did a white elephant gift exchange, and after everything, we all got to swim and hang out in the pool at the Ota’s house.
