Lana'i Kauna'oa 4-H Rabbit Handling Skills

Another GREAT Day with Lana’i Kauna’oa 4-H Keikis and Family Members!! Sunday, November 19, 2023. The day started with an introduction to 4-H Procedures – Sign-in, Motto, Pledge, and Cloverbud Expectations and Goals. We moved on to Culinary Skills and then we all practiced proper rabbit handling plus rabbit care responsibilities and State of Hawaii requirements in regards to invasive species preventative measures. The event ended with hot cocoa, marshmallows and snacks.

Waiehu Beach Cleanup

Waiehu Beach Clean Up Volunteers

The Waiehu Beach Cleanup took place on April 24, 2022 with 27 4-Hers, 6 leaders and a few parents\siblings. It was so nice to finally have an in-person event! Supplies (garbage bags, gloves, pickers) were provided by Malama Maui Nui. Snack and water provided by 4-H with funds to be reimbursed to Lucky Clovers, who organized the event as a community service project.

Police Department Community Service

Members of the Maui Girls 4-H Club delivered appreciation goody bags to the Maui Police Department in April.

On April 3, 2022, Maui 4-H clubs participated in the annual Teach-In event, where members presented food demonstrations, extemporaneous speeches or science demonstrations online. As part of the annual event, participants also completed thank you goody bags for the officers and staff at the Maui Police Department as a community service project. About 100 bags were completed and delivered to the Police Department. During their visit, they got to meet Maui Police Chief John Pelletier. Effective Immediately: Given the current COVID-19 situation and the possible threat of infection, we will be cancelling all 4-H activities and events such as club meetings, workshops, service projects, etc. until further notice.
