Congratulations to Extension Agent Laura Kawamura on her retirement! Laura left her position working with 4-H youth development at the end of 2018 after being with the University of Hawaii Cooperative Extension for many years.
Her dedication to improving the lives of Kauai’s youth and families was evident through the many programs she developed and brought to the island in healthy living education including the Community Behavioral Health Early-Warning System, Mindfulness Training, Nutrition Education for Wellness, Ka’ Aha (Connecting Generations Through Meal Preparation), Kaua‘i’s Great Weigh Out, the T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More) Student Mentoring Project at Kauai High School, and the MyPI Hawaii Disaster Preparedness program, among many others.
