A CYBERSAFETY TEAM: The Parent-School Collaboration

A CYBERSAFETY TEAM: The Parent-School Collaboration

PARENTS & EDUCATORS!

Come to a FREE Cybersafety Workshop* and learn about:

  • Protecting children from cyberbullying, sexting, and other cyber dangers
  • The legal ramifications for cybercrimes
  • Family and school partnerships to reduce cyberbullying and sexting

This event is geared towards parents and educators of children grades 6-10.

The School Internet Safety Initiative at the University of Hawai‘i will be hosting a FREE* cybersafety event on Saturday, May 26, 2012, from 8:30am to 12:00 noon in the University Laboratory School Band Room. Light refreshments will be provided.

It would be very tough trying to solve all of the CYBERBULLYING and SEXTING problems at your school on your own. That is why a team of dedicated and responsible school stakeholders, like yourself can make a difference by creating and maintaining a safe place for students to learn and grow.

We are asking participants to apply to this workshop as a “team.” These teams can be comprised of classroom teachers, administrators/counselors, and parents from the same school.

We hope that by attending the workshop as a school team, you can further support each other in creating awareness and promoting cybersafety in your schools!
