A Unified Approach to Nursing Education in Hawai'i
Develop a system of nursing education that meets Hawaii’s need for well-educated, culturally sensitive, and caring professionally competent nurses. The educational programs the UHSNC has under development will maximize the investment made by the State of Hawaii by developing new ways of offering nursing education that avoids unnecessary duplication of services and streamlines the delivery of nursing education throughout the State. In response to the State of Hawaii’s growing need for qualified registered nurses, the University of Hawaii’s nursing programs are developing a unified approach to nursing education.
Aloha! Welcome to the University of Hawaii Statewide Nursing Consortium (UHSNC) Homepage. The consortium is working to develop a statewide curriculum that will:
- Increase the number of nurses prepared to meet the changing health care needs of the people of Hawaii
- Increase efficiency in educational preparation of nurses
- Increase access to nursing education throughout the State
