Basic conversation for beginning adult learners: everyday listening and speaking (greetings, basic formulaic language, names/introductions, time/date, and shopping/bargaining). Pinyin romanization.

Cost: $170 for early registration until August 17, 2018; $180 for regular registration.

Materials: Textbook: Experiencing Chinese – Oral Course 1 [Units 4-5] (Chinese Edition). $20 Cash - Payable at first class. Each class requires one textbook.

Calligraphy

Chinese Calligraphy For Beginners (A14977)

Learn about the structure and practice the basic strokes of Chinese characters in calligraphy writing. Upon completion, students should be able to use calligraphy in everyday life, such as for household decoration and artwork. Students will also practice writing antithetical couplets and the character fu (meaning ‘blessing’), and make their own Chinese paper fan.
