DEADLINE: MARCH 15
This award recognizes students whose service to the field of Speech Communication has been meritorious. These contributions may include, but are not limited to, service in the Department of Communicology, in the college, at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, and/or in the community.
A student is eligible for the Department of Communicology Service Award if he or she is full time at UHM and majors in Communicology regardless of undergraduate class standing (freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior).
Each recipient has her or his name placed on a permanent plaque displayed in the office of the Communicology Department. The recipient also receives $250.00 toward tuition at UHM for one semester provided the student is enrolled full time, he or she is in good academic standing, and funds are available. If additional funds become available, the award amount may be increased.
A nomination form for this award may be submitted by faculty member(s) in the Department of Communicology, peer nominations, or self-nomination. Each nominee will be asked to complete and submit a Nominee Information Form (see below). The committee will determine the nominee(s) that best meets all criteria. In the event that no nominee clearly meets the criteria, as determined by the Awards Committee, no award will be given that year.
