Voice Pitch Affects Perceptions of Social Influence

Dr. Jinguang “Andrew” Zhang and Dr. Jessica Gasiorek recently published an article in Communication Research, a flagship journal of the communication field, on the effects of males’ and females’ voice pitch on social influence. Alumni Workshop a Major Success

The Department of Communicology hosted a successful workshop that featured Communicology alumni. Fourteen alumni acted as panelists and fielded questions from over 25 undergraduate students regarding how the principles learned in Communicology classes were applied in their respective jobs. Communicology Professor and Chair, Dr. Amy Hubbard, published an article entitled “Effects of timing and sincerity of an apology on satisfaction and changes in negative feelings during conflicts” in Western Journal of Communication with her coauthors Blake Hendrickson, Keri Fehrenbach, and Jennifer Matayoshi.
