What is your work history (all jobs since you graduated)?
Teaching Assistant; Business Owner (Retail); Real Estate Development

What useful skills did you develop from taking classes in the department?
Many things – how to adapt to my surroundings, how to adapt to people of different backgrounds, communication styles, and how to communicate clearly. It’s helped me learn to connect with people and develop great personal and professional relationships.

What was your fondest memory, funny anecdote, or memorable lesson you remember from your enrollment in the program?
The biggest skill is by far, critical thinking. I know it’s a very vague term, but the Research Methods (COMG 302) class really taught me to not take all information as fact and really read between the lines. It’s a skill you can translate to every aspect of your life, including communication.

What was your favorite class in our department?
Organizational communication, by far. Being able to see communication theory applied to current topics we deal with day-to-day like social media, work, and companies is extremely interesting and applicable.

What was your fondest memory, funny anecdote, or memorable lesson you remember from our classes?
The best times were with my classmates, outside of class. I think you get what you put in, and the more you put yourself out there, the more you grow (and, in turn, have tons of fun).
