The teacher designed a writing activity to generate language expression as well as literacy development. The children are active participants in creating a web of special events to include in a diary.


Representing Numbers

The teacher engages students in an activity that demonstrates different ways to represent numbers. The teacher uses questioning techniques to encourage student talk as they use counting strategies and assist one another in representing numbers.


Imperialism

Students read poetry reflecting the views of imperialists and anti-imperialists. The teacher works with students to interpret the readings and better understand the opposing perspectives.
