Creating a Book

Campus Children’s Center
Age of Students: 4-5 years

The teacher works with two students to create their own books. The teacher does an excellent job of encouraging and assisting the children in generating their own stories. The teacher balances helping the child develop their own ideas while assisting with the technical procedure of creating a book.

Painting with Nature

Campus Children’s Center
Age of Students: 4-5 years

The teacher and a group of children are finishing up a painting lesson in which they used plants and spices to make the paint (uki uki berries, turmeric, and tea). Using this as an inspiration, the teacher encourages the children to generate their own ideas. The children suggest new ingredients to make their own paints and the group gathers these items together from the kitchen and garden.
