Eu Tong Sen Memorial Exchange Scholarship 2019-2020
Opportunity to study at the Chinese University of Hong Kong

The Eu Tong Sen Memorial Exchange Program is designed to strengthen academic relations between the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and UH and to foster the continuing exchange of graduate students in all areas related to Chinese studies.

UHM graduate students are invited to apply to study at CUHK for ONE SEMESTER (either fall or spring) as an exchange student via the Manoa International Exchange office (MIX at: https://manoa.hawaii.edu/mix/), enrolling in 10 credit hours of China-related course work and/or research. CUHK offers a broad range of China-focused courses in English, Mandarin, or Cantonese, and has a full curriculum in Chinese language instruction.

The scholarship package includes full tuition for the semester and approximately $8,000 stipend to cover a round-trip airfare, books, housing, food, local transportation, and miscellaneous expenses at CUHK.


Ah Kin (Buck) Yee Graduate Fellowship in Chinese Studies 2019-2020

UHM full-time graduate students focusing on China-related studies can apply for Ah Kin (Buck) Yee Graduate Fellowship in Chinese Studies.  The fellowship is open to U.S. and international UHM students studying about China in graduate degree programs.  Recipients must fulfill requirements within the East-West Center education program, and the maximum scholarship amount is approximately $7,000 for the year.
