The Child and Family Research Lab

The Child and Family Research Lab is comprised of a diverse group of researchers, students, and faculty from the University of Hawaii, Myron B. Thompson School of Social Work. The research lab explores topics that are of concern to the well-being of families and children in Hawaii, in the United States, and internationally. In particular, the Child and Welfare Research Lab is producing cutting-edge research about social welfare issues for Asian and Pacific Islanders, is the only research lab in the United States that focuses on the social welfare and social work needs of the Pacific. The Child and Family Research Lab is comprised of six distinct research areas:

Juvenile Justice and Ethnic Disproportionality

Child Welfare and Child Well-being

International Social Welfare

Education and Child Welfare

Sexual Orientation, Gender, and Gender Identity

Prejudice, Discrimination, and Violence
