Achieving Our Destiny
March 3, 2011
I am pleased to announce that Achieving Our Destiny, the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa 2011–2015 Strategic Plan, has been posted for campus review at www.uhm.hawaii.edu/vision
This updated plan represents the work of many people. In Spring 2010, the Strategic Plan Working Group (SPWG) began an inclusive process involving 1) analysis of data from over 1,300 student, faculty, staff, administrator, alumni and community member survey responses, 2) focus group discussions involving nearly 100 campus participants, and 3) synthesis of survey and focus group data by writing teams that prepared initial draft narratives and developed draft goals and progress indicators.
I want to thank the SPWG and all of those who participated and supported this effort. Many people worked very hard to bring this strategic planning process to fruition and we can be proud of the manner in which campus constituencies ‘stepped up’ to participate in what was clearly an ambitious and challenging timeline for completion. By working together, we have produced a plan that remains true to the overarching principles outlined in Defining Our Destiny, while clarifying and refining strategic goals that should enable Mānoa to “Achieve” the “Destiny” we envisioned in 2002.
Please review the plan and send any comments to SPWG Convener Susan Hippensteele at firstname.lastname@example.org
We will be taking comments until March 31, 2011.Mahalo,
